Double Fudge Saucepan Brownies

I've tried many different brownie recipes and these are definitely our family favorite!  They are so moist and chocolatey, and better yet, they couldn't be simpler to make.

1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons water
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Heat oven to 325.  Grease square 9x9x2 pan.  In medium saucepan over low heat cook sugar, butter and water, stirring constantly until mixture boils.  Remove from heat; immediately stir in 1 cup chocolate chips, stirring until melted.  Stir in eggs and vanilla until blended.  Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to chocolate mixture.  Stir in remaining 1 cup chips and nuts.  Pour into pan.  Bake 25-30 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from edges of pan.  Cool completely; cut into bars.
