Grandma Sharon's Best Apple Crisp

As I've mentioned elsewhere on this site, my step-mom is an incredible cook! She made this awesome crisp one fall and I had to get the recipe. That can sometimes be hard because half the time, she doesn't even measure things. That's how it is with the apples here-and I remember her sitting at the table coming up with measurements for the other ingredients. It was delicious-hope you enjoy it too!

Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
(enough to cover a 9x13 baking dish 2" deep)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup oatmeal
1 teaspoon cinnamon
chopped walnuts
1 cup butter, melted

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place apples in a large bowl, sprinkle with 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Layer apples 2" deep into a 9x13 baking dish. In a medium bowl, combine sugars through walnuts; add melted butter and combine well. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes.
