Kim's Lazy-Day Overnight Lasagna

I had to get this recipe while over a friend's house for dinner. It's not only delicious, but so simple to throw together the night before. Better yet, no expensive no-bake noodles needed here, just regular lasagna!

1 pound ground beef or turkey
1 32 ounce jar (or more) spaghetti sauce
1 cup water
1 15 ounce carton ricotta cheese
2 tablespoons chopped chives
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 egg
8 ounces uncooked lasagna noodles
8 ounces each sliced mozzarella & provolone
2 tablespoons grated parmesan

In a large pan, brown the beef; drain. Add the sauce and water. Blend well and simmer for a few minutes. In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta, spices and egg; mix well. In a 9x13 baking dish, layer 1-1/2 cups meat sauce, half of the noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, then half of the mozzarella and provolone slices. Repeat with another layer of sauce, noodles, ricotta and cheese; top with remaining sauce. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. (The lasagna can be frozen at this point). Cover with heavy duty foil and refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 50-60 minutes (until bubbly and noodles are tender). Cover with foil and let stand for 15 minutes.
