Chicken Salad Tea Sandwiches

My friends and I used to have an annual "Anne of Green Gables" movie marathon, with a full tea during the intermission! This delicious salad is from a 'Green Gables' cookbook. It's a favorite with girlfriend's and hubby alike!

1 cup finely chopped cooked chicken
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
1 hard boiled egg, finely chopped
1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon finely chopped green onion
2-3 tablespoons mayonnaise
6 thin slices of bread

Mix the ingredients in a large bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Butter 3 slices of bread; spread a thin layer of salad on bread and top with remaining slices. Cut the crusts off if desired, and cut into triangles or various shapes using a cookie cutter.
